House Rules
- Maximum 4 guests.
- All guests must be over 18 years.
- No visitors, guided tours to members of the public, parties, or events.
- No filming for television, cinema or streaming services without consent (personal use and social media, including YouTube is allowed).
- No smoking or vaping unless outside in the courtyard.
- No lighting of candles, burning of incense, sage etc.
- No open fires - our fireplaces are ornamental only. They are not connected to the chimney and pose a fire/explosion risk if used.
- No cleansing rituals - there's no proof that spirits actually want to be cleaned or moved on, and there's no proof that it works anyway.
- No removing of items from the home. All incidents of theft, no matter how small, will be referred to police.
- Be mindful of neighbours - avoid investigating rooms that back on to the neighbour's property after midnight (i.e. living room, kids room).
- Show respect to furniture and items in the home. Additional charges apply and security deposit will be held to cover the cost of damaged items.
- Show respect to historic figures tied to the property and St Osyth - the accused women (including Ursula Kemp) are generally considered innocent victims rather than the evil creatures often portrayed.
- Do not park/block the alley behind the home with your vehicle as it is used as a driveway for local residents. Nearby parking is available in the Priory around the corner, or street parking is normally available further down Colchester Road.
