Terms of Use and Privacy Policy

The Cage St Osyth Ltd owns and operates this website ('the Website') and the property located at 14 Colchester Road, St Osyth ('the Cage').

By accessing or using the Website or booking The Cage for an overnight, YOU AGREE TO ABIDE BY THESE TERMS OF USE. This includes the terms and conditions outlined in this document and how we handle the Privacy of your data outlined below (together Terms). You should review how we handle your information, as well as the terms and conditions of making a purchase or booking carefully and IMMEDIATELY cease using our website, accessing our services or booking an overnight stay if you do not agree to the Terms.

Use of the Website and the Cage

To book an overnight stay or make a purchase using the Website you must be at least 18 years of age. Guests under 18 year are not permitted to stay in the Cage. 

You agree to only use our website and the Cage for your personal use and not for any business or commercial purpose (filming for personal social media or YouTube is permitted).

Payment

Payment for all purchases for physical goods or bookings must be made through the Website using the secure payment gateway. We do not accept cash, cheque or any other forms of payment other than those provided through the Website.

When you provide us with your payment information, you authorise our use of and access to the payment instrument you have chosen to use (as well as use and access by any third party payment facilitators we may use). By providing us with your payment information, you further authorise to charge the amount due to this payment instrument, and to recover the cost of any items lost, stolen or damaged during your stay.

In the event that any payment transaction is unsuccessful, rejected or dishonoured, any goods will not be shipped to you and/or any bookings will be cancelled.

All prices stated on the Website are in British Pound unless otherwise specified, and are inclusive of VAT.

Shipping of Goods

If purchasing physical goods on the Website,  you will be quoted for price of shipping and estimated delivery at the time of checkout. As we use a variety of suppliers, the cost and estimated delivery time will vary based on the products you're purchasing. If estimated delivery time is not provided to you at the time of checkout, a standard delivery time of up to 30 days applies. 

Delivery will take place as soon as reasonably possible, depending on the postage method selected. Delivery times may vary due to unforeseen circumstances. Please note that quoted delivery times do not include weekends or public holidays.

You are required to provide us with a complete and accurate delivery address, including the name of the recipient. We are not liable for the delivery of your goods to the wrong address or wrong person as a result of you providing us with inaccurate or incomplete information. We are not obligated to issue a refund or replacement in the event of a delivery being lost as a result of an incomplete, invalid or inaccurate delivery address.

When shipping goods overseas, they may be subject to import duties and taxes applied by the destination country – this can happen, for example, if you make a purchase using the Website in one country (e.g. Australia) but provide a delivery address in another (e.g. the United Kingdom). In these cases, you are responsible for paying any such duties or taxes. Please contact your local customs office for more information before making a purchase. We are not responsible for the payment of any such duties or taxes and are not liable for any failure by you to pay them.

Refunds and Cancellations

All overnight bookings are non-refundable. If you are unable to make your booking or something comes up, get in touch with us and we can help you reschedule or offer you a credit.

Physical goods purchased on our website can be returned for a refund within 14 days of receiving the item. The customer is responsible for the cost of shipping to return the item. The refund will be processed once the item is received.

Authorized Guests

The property is limited to and can only accomodate 4 guests at a time. You'll be aksed to provide the names of guests at the time of your booking. No additional or unauthorized guests are permitted. Guided tours to members of the public, special events and parties are strictly prohibited.

Children and Pets

Children under 18 are not permitted to enter the property. Our property cannot accomodate pets of any kind (service animals are an exception).

Checkin/out

Check-in is at 3pm on the day your booking commences. Check-out is at 11am on the day your booking ends. We cannot accomodate early checkins or late checkouts. Please vacate the property at this time. Your access code will only be valid for the duration of your booking.

Security Deposit

All overnight bookings incur a refundable security deposity of 100 GBP. This is to cover any lost or stolen items, or damage to property during your stay, and is refundable up to 7 days after checkout. If you do not receive your security deposit automatically within 7 days, please contact us.

Your security deposit will not be returned if you breach our terms and conditions or house rules. This may include, but is not limited to:

  • If excessive cleaning required after your stay
  • Lost or stolen items
  • Damaged items or property
  • Unauthorised or additional guests or visitors
  • Underage guests or pets
  • Disabling of smoke alarms or security cameras
  • Lighting open fires
  • The use of candles, incense burners, burning of sage
  • Smoking or vaping inside the home
  • Conducting any 'cleansing' rituals

Privacy

We do not sell or share your information with third parties for the purpose of marketing. We do, however, use third parties to operate parts of our website and automate aspects of The Cage during your stay to make your experience seamless. Generally, if you make a purchase on our website, book a stay or use our online contact form, we may use these third parties to store or process your information:

  • GhostTube - The Cage St Osyth Ltd is a subsidiary of GhostTube Pty Ltd. and manages all aspects of operation of The Cage, including staffing, infrastructure etc. As such, GhostTube will inherently have access to your personal information when making purchases or bookings with us necessery to provide goods and services to you, and they do use third parties to facilitate and process payments, shipping and delivery.   • IZRent - We use IZRent to manage bookings at The Cage. Their systems may access information such as your name and email address to facilitate bookings, however, it is not stored on their servers and is only used at the time of making a booking or when checking availability of The Cage. This information is necessery to facility overnight bookings. View IZRent's privacy policy here.

  • Eufy - We use Eufy for our security cameras that operate in The Cage. Cameras are in all areas in The Cage, excluding bedrooms and the bathroom. Surveillance is necessary to protect the security of our collection of historically significant artifacts on display in The Cage. While footage is stored on our servers, we do use Eufy apps and services to remotely access this footage. Read Eufy's privacy policy here.

  • Shopify - We use Shopify to manage payments and customer information at The Cage. Their systems may store information relating to your payment, booking, and purchase information, as well as name and address for billing purposes. View Shopify's privacy policy here.

  • Google - We use Google to email customers about their bookings, our optional newsletter and marketing emails and to respond to queries made on our website. View Google's privacy policy here.

  • Printful - We use Printful for made to order merchandies, tee shirts, mugs, etc. If you make a purchase for physical goods on our website, we will share your information with Printful to facilitate delivery of goods. View Printful's privacy policy here.
